About the Gala
The Purica Foundation Gala is already the talk of the town. From the moment you arrive on the red carpet, Gala guests will be entertained, tantalized and delighted at every turn; feasting on elegant and tasty hors d’oeuvres and desserts, sipping and savoring a wide range of wine, beer and spirits and bidding on the wondrous array of silent auction treasures. 1920’s Theme – Dress to Impress! ‘Sippin’, Savourin’ and a bit of Misbehavin’
Ways you can help
We invite you to join the Purica Foundation to host a Gala Evening raising funds for a much-needed Hospice House to better serve the needs of our Cowichan communities.
On November 4th, 2017, Mellor Hall at the Cowichan Exhibition grounds will be transformed to capture the imagination and take guests back to the 1920’s – sultry, sexy, speakeasy, anti-prohibition….
Please consider partnering with the Purica Foundation to present this spectacular event. Ways in which you may like to contribute include: sponsorship, auction donations, and in-kind donations.
100% of the net proceeds from the Gala will help to build Hospice House. Please see the attachments to learn more about sponsorship ideas and recognition levels, as well as information about the Gala Event, Purica Foundation and Hospice House.
We look forward to hearing from you and please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Marnie and Trevor Watkin
Co-Founders, Purica Foundation
With so much support from their community, founders Trevor, Marnie, Jason and Anna Watkin wanted to give back in a meaningful way and created the Purica Foundation, a fund held with the Victoria Foundation, designed to generate charitable donations, fundraising initiatives, and promotional support for key community initiatives.
The Purica Foundation fundraising committee is excited to announce that the recipient of its donation this year will be the Cowichan Hospice House Project.
What we don’t have in Cowichan is a Hospice House- a place to live well at the end of life. A place to die with support, safety, and dignity, in a home-like setting. A place where expert medical care is provided, focussed on a person’s own goals and priorities.
Please join the Purica Foundation to help make Cowichan Hospice House a reality. You matter. Your family matters. Especially at the end of life.
The Purica Foundation Committee
The Purica Foundation is managed by a 12-person-strong committee that successfully blends a wide-range of skills and talents, including financial management, marketing, fundraising, communications, graphic design, visual arts and performing arts.
Committee members share an unwavering commitment to help others to reach their full potential and to work as a team to create positive long-lasting change in our Cowichan communities.
Cowichan Hospice House project
Cowichan Hospice staff and volunteers do an amazing job of providing compassionate care, emotional support, information, and companionship to people and their families dealing with advancing illness and grief. What we don’t have in Cowichan is a Hospice House – a place to live well at the end of life. A place to die with support, safety, and dignity, in a home-like setting. A place where expert medical care is provided, focussed on a person’s own goals and priorities. Cowichan Hospice is working with Island Health to make plans for a hospice at Cairnsmore Place in Duncan. Our community deserves excellent end of life care.
